Initial Consultation with
Nolan Animal Law

The purpose of a consultation with Nolan Animal Law is to allow you, as the prospective client, to introduce yourself and share your needs and concerns with us. On our end, we aim to get a better understanding of your case, evaluate whether we are the proper resource for addressing the matter, and advise what, if anything, can be done to help you. The initial consultation also gives us time to discuss fees, timing, potential conflicts, and other practical matters.

Please understand that your matter will typically not be resolved during the initial consultation, nor is the consultation's goal to render a final or definitive legal opinion. While discussion of the legal remedies or resolutions available for your matter, if any, will occasionally take place at the conclusion of the consultation, additional investigation or research by the attorney is often required. The initial consultation's ultimate goal is for both the attorney and prospective client to obtain enough information to make an informed decision about what to do next while balancing time and scheduling.

THREE MAIN GOALS OF
THE CONSULTATION

  • LEARN

A consultation helps us understand your particular legal concern

  • INFORM

It also gives us a chance to go over your various legal options

  • RESOLVE

Together we determine the best path forward to meet your legal needs

To ensure that our staff and clients remain safe and healthy, Nolan Animal Law is adhering to all COVID-19 protocols. Consultations will ONLY be conducted online via Zoom or by telephone at this time.

PREPARING FOR YOUR CONSULTATION

Your time with an attorney is important. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your initial consultation.

Tip #1

Think about what your goal is concerning your legal matter. We’ll be better able to help you if you know the outcome you desire.

Tip #2

Prepare to be honest. We will treat everything you say with confidentiality so you can feel comfortable speaking freely.

Tip #3

Review the facts. We may ask you some tough questions, but it’s for your benefit to share all relevant aspects of your issue.

Tip #4

Consider any questions you may have. We’ll do our best to answer them candidly and with as much detail as you need.

What to Expect

The attorney will discuss your legal matter with you in some detail. If you don’t understand something, please ask to have us explain it again. We don’t mind. Really.

If we decide that we can help you with your matter, and you decide you want to proceed, we’ll work together to determine the best path forward to meet your legal need.

If it is decided that Nolan Animal Law is not the right fit for your case for any reason, you will be offered a referral to another attorney or firm that can better assist you.
